Nike and long-time collaborator, CLOT, reissued their Nike Air Max 1 CLOT Kiss Of Death in 2021. For CLOT founder, Edison Chen, the sole mission of his work with Nike is to bridge Eastern and Western cultures through design and storytelling based on Chinese traditions. The Nike Air Max 1 CLOT Kiss Of Death fulfills this mission by mixing Nike’s innovative designs with Chinese philosophies on medicine, specifically foot pressure points. The upper is composed of translucent materials, making feet the focal point. Following the translucent theme, the shoe also features an icy-blue outsole with a printed diagram showing the pressure points on the foot. The shoe also incorporates some luxe details, such as faux snakeskin on the Swoosh and ostrich texture on the collar.
